Ok we actually have a TON of art supplies. I need help -- something that looks good, is sturdy, can hold a bunch of stuff (not so much craft stuff but paper, markers etc). Any ideas? Should be something kids can self serve.

I have one of these on their table to store crayons, markers, pencils etc.

I have these under the table to store extra items.

And this on the table to hold paper, although I'm not very happy with it.

This may be overkill depending on how much stuff we are talking, but I've used an antique jelly cupboard in the past (baskets, etc. on the shelves inside; there are basically 6 big rectangular areas in mine to store stuff in). I kept it near our kitchen table, and the top served kind of as a sideboard. We stored cloth napkins and other linens in the drawers above the two doors.

Mine is a little like this. Two drawers on top, two doors, three shelves inside, so six "slots" basically for baskets/storage. https://www.google.com/search?q=jelly+cupboard&client=firefox-a&hs=mk3&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&channel=sb&tbm=isch&imgil=KDnNJFVJPoCP1M%253A%253BAM8dYw-T-cvq9M%253Bhttps%25253A%25252F%25252Fwww.1stdibs.co m%25252Ffurniture%25252Ffolk-art%25252Fpainted-furniture%25252Fgreen-jelly-cupboard%25252Fid-f_691427%25252F&source=iu&pf=m&fir=KDnNJFVJPoCP1M%253A%252CAM8dYw-T-cvq9M%252C_&usg=__XBJQKbopZC0lsYaojwQYTnMesIg%3D&biw=1366&bih=645&ved=0CFIQyjc&ei=pwJZVP_aFMOnyATP_ID4Cg#facrc=_&imgdii=_&imgrc=088YtqldLBBPNM%253A%3BAnsjLILFdXvX6M%3Bhttp% 253A%252F%252Fantiquehelper.rfcsystems.com%252FFul l%252F087%252F58087.jpg%3Bhttps%253A%252F%252Fwww. antiquehelper.com%252Fcatalog.php%253Fid%253D219%2 526page%253D11%3B600%3B660

In my current house, we use an old cottage style armoire in our sunroom/mudroom. It holds paper, a tote with acrylics, a box with oil pants, brushes, I have command hooks inside for multiple pairs of kid scissors, containers for markers, colored pencils, etc.
