I got some great advice here last year and purchased a pair Sorel Joan of Arctic boots. They are super warm and I really love them, but I find that I still need some "cuter" boots (those are my 12 year daughter's words). I live in a long/cold winter part of Canada, so warmth is a must, but I really don't spend a ton of time outdoors (and I have my Sorels for those days, plus I hate winter). I'm a SAHM, so no commuting, walking to work, dressing up.... I'm basically looking for a pair of boots to wear with jeans that will still look stylish for running errands, watching my son play hockey...

My difficulty is that I live in a remote area, so I have almost no opportunity to try boots on in person (the nearest large city is SEVERAL hours away). Also, I'm short (5'3") with short legs, so boots hit my calf at a really awkward spot. Plus, my calves are kinda wide at 15" (at least I feel like they're wide because I can never get my foot into tall boots.

I'm open to tall (of that's possible) or short boots as long as they're warm.

Thanks to those that are still reading this. I really do appreciate the advice that I get here.

The uggs are cute but you would have to see how the height works. I'm short too and find that mid calf makes my legs look kinda stumpy. I do better with knee height, usually 13.5 to 14.5 inch shaft.

Don't have any particular boot suggestions, but wanted to say that www.shoeme.ca is a Canadian shoe website that offers free shipping and free return shipping, so you could order several pairs to try on and ship back boots that don't work without paying an arm and a leg!

I love the Ugg Brooks boots, but I was worried that they would be too tight in the calf area. :(
