It's raining - hurray! We need the rain. And I need something to keep my feet dry. I'd love recommendations for either rain boots or other multi-purpose waterproof boots that: comfortable to walk in, as attractive as possible given their functionality, not chemical smelling and plasticky looking, and about mid-calf height but not too tall. Coordinating with my lime green rain jacket/mac would be even better. If possible, please include links to the boots since each brand (eg Kamiks) have many different styles and it's hard to tell which one to get. Thanks!

Hmm, I'll give my recs even though they may not meet your needs. I have and love the Kamik Jennifer rain boots: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0041FI6NS/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 They are extremely comfy, even have some support in the footbed. I wear them all the time for walking the dog, wore them for a couple of hours plus for one rainy Halloween, etc. I can also drive in them comfortably, something I can't do in my LL Bean wellies. They come up high on my leg though ~ at the same time I have a short inseam, so they would be shorter on the leg for others. I am pretty sensitive to smells, including plasticky/chemically/off-gassy smells, and these did not have any.

There is a kids' version of these boots, or at least a very similar style by Kamik, that my kids have and that I also wear. I'm typically a 7.5 in women's and can wear the youth size 6 in them: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005CUEY9Q/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 it's the Kamik raindrops boot.

There is a lot of love for Hunter rain boots of all styles on this board and in my community. They're nice, and I can wear both the kids and the women's versions, but I'm really happy with my Kamiks, which were a fraction of the price.

Thanks! The chemical smell factor is probably number 1, so that helps a lot. The comfort factor is big too. I'll check out Kamiks and Hunters.

I'm thinking about the Kamik Heidis, which are a bit shorter - debating between black and red! http://www.amazon.com/Kamik-Womens-Heidi-Rain-Boot/dp/B002NPCOC2/ref=sr_1_1?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1417766616&sr=1-1&keywords=rain+boots

Those are cute! I have black matte Kamiks and my LL Bean wellies are in-your-face bright yellow with anchors all over them, so I'm going to say I like both red and black. :)

There's a lot of love for Bogs on this board as well, and tons of people in my area wear them. They tend to be a bit more expensive though. No smell either for the ones I've looked at.

The Kamik Heidis get tons of good reviews, wow. I doubt you can go wrong trying those, just make sure the size/color you order has free returns.

Bogs will be a lightning deal today.

I have Bog winter/insulated boots, which might be more than you need, but I can say that there is NO smell. I'm very sensitive to smell and have returned wearables due to smell! Bogs look surprisingly trim on my legs, compared to how they look in the store! I thought they'd be ridiculously bulky, but they don't feel bulky at all and I easily drive in them as though they are regular shoes. ETA: Mine look like this (http://www.amazon.com/Bogs-Classic-Tall-Winter-Waterproof/dp/B00GUJY74U) but are solid black; the other "Classic" ones listed on Amazon look a little different than mine. ETA2: Aha -- mine are labeled and they are the Plimsoll Tall (http://www.amazon.com/Bogs-Womens-Plimsoll-Waterproof-Winter/dp/B00ARX5QDQ).

My shorter rain boots are Sorel Tivoli lace-ups with a polka dot pattern on the inside, but they don't seem to be available anymore. I generally love Sorel for my feet, but I also like Kamiks. My serious snow-stompers are Kamik boots.
