I bought one for DH a few years ago and it still hasn't emerged from the cabinet. I think it is a little fussy for kids (too many parts). There are better options out there IMO.

I'm a bento blogger, and I agree -- too many parts for a kid. Great for grown-ups though! For kids, especially younger elementary, multi-compartment boxes with one lid (preferably snap or locking ) works best, IMO/IME.
