To me, Disney and camping just don't go together, but I'd like to hear if anyone has ever done it. We'll be in the area over spring break and thought we would spend a day or two there. Maybe we will just go to Ft. Desoto and stay at a real camping site or maybe check out the new hotel at Legoland...just slightly intrigued by Ft. Wilderness for some reason.

My ILs do the cabins every time. They also have 3 kids, who are now 12, 12 and 14. This is their 5th trip and they always do the cabins. They like that there is a kitchen, enough beds for everyone, and aren't connected. They rent the golf cart to get around the fort.

:yeahthat: I have stayed in the cabins once and I really liked it for all these reasons.

Friends of ours did it for their honeymoon in August, 2002 and they loved it. They were looking to do Disneyworld on a budget (on the tail end of a Disney cruise) and are outdoorsy people. I am surprised they haven't taken their 10 yr. old there yet.

I could totally see DH going for this option as well.

My friends did a cabin last year and loved it. They spent a good amount of time at the resort doing activities there too.
