10-y.o. DGD1 (now wearing girls' size 14 or 16) needs a one-piece swimsuit for indoor pool swim lessons and I've been deputized to find a deal. (My DIL is impressed with my deal finding abilities--sometimes I give credit to BBB!)

Looking for a basic one-piece, no froufrou, good coverage, fairly sturdy. She usually wears a rash guard and swim shorts in the summer but doesn't want that for indoors.

Help me maintain my deal-finding reputation!!

For a no frou-frou one piece I'd start with Costco, if you have them in your area.

costco usually starts to get speedos in around now....a one piece that would be perfect for this is about $12

Be warned tho - they run SMALL and only go up to a size 16. The return desk person at our Costco said they always see a TON of returns of the swimsuits because of this.

I was just at Costco the other day and snagged their one piece swimsuit for myself. I needed a basic one to wear while swimming with DS2 in our parent/tot swim classes.

I haven't tried it on but I'm hoping it'll fit me! It was only 13 bucks too.

And I bought this one for my niece and DD the other day. The background is a navy, not black as it appears in the photo. It is very cute on, nice and sturdy, and a good price. http://www.target.com/p/girls-1-piece-striped-swimsuit/-/A-16338240#prodSlot=medium_1_29

Lula is on a swim team and the local swim supplier sells older style suits for super cheap. Our team changes suits every 2 years, so when we went to buy her swim suit we dug around in the boxes for practice suits. Her team swimsuit was $$$$$ but the practice suits were less than $20. I'd Google swim team suppliers in your area.

Good ideas all! Since I "have to" go to Costco anyway, I'll start there. Thanks for the tip on the Speedo sizing -- since DGD1 wears a size 14 in most things, hopefully a 16 will be OK.

Just went to Costco--they did have a big assortment of girls' Speedos but they only went up to size 14. I grabbed one and hope it'll work at least for a short time. If it's too small now, I'll return it but if she outgrows it after a fairly short time, it will be worth the $12 to tide us over til a good LE sale. Thanks again for the tip.

Kohls carries Speedo up to size 16 as well.

Last year I found some great one pieces at tjmaxx and Marshall's. Look in the girls and women's sections.
