Sorry, mods, I meant to post this in mommy wear.

Does anyone one have a favorite blog or website that puts together great outfits and then links to or tells you the brand name so you can purchase the pieces? I haven't found a sight like that on Pinterest. Wardrobe911.com used to do that (I got some great pieces from there) but they stopped doing the links. The Extrapetite blog has great ideas and she says what brand they are but she is super tiny (she links to junior sizes sometimes that I couldn't fit my pinky into) and only blogs occasionally.

There is nothing that drives me more crazy than seeing these great outfits put together but then you have to figure out what brand the coat is or where is came from. Any help?

Extrapetite is probably my favorite, as her fashion aesthetic tends to be very similar to mine. I am also petite and most (but not all) of the fashion bloggers I follow are as well.

I love Wendy's LookBook for ideas...although most of her looks are a bit to fashion-y for my everyday life. Although she does incorporate more budget friendly items (from places like Target and Gap)...most of what she shows is a bit beyond my price range.

Shana, of TheMomEdit (formerly Ain'tNoMomJeans) might be my favorite blogger overall. Her style is a little funkier than mine...but she inspires me to step up my game. While most of her blog is dedicated to style, she does general lifestyle posts as well (including a recent one on vibrators...not for the faint of heart)

Two others I follow (I may have learned about them here) are...

http://goodlifeforless.blogspot.com
Kim and Jill are both moms who dress like most of the moms I know...but a bit more pulled together. Jill's (goodlife) everyday style is a bit more casual (more distressed jeans and tee shirts). Kim (pennypincher) is a bit more elegant (and because she is tall, she can wear some things I just can't).

I don't always like what she picks, and the pieces can be pricey, but overall I like her vibe.

I used to follow many of the above, but now think they are terrible. BUT, their older posts, say from 2+ years ago, were pretty great! That's about the time when bloggers posted genuine, affordable outfits, instead of just shilling whatever was given to them for free. Just a note to look at the archives because you'll find much better stuff. I don't mean to start ranting.

i agree with you. The problem is that the cute items they link to sell out quickly so the old links don't work.

There are so many bloggers who post the same outfits I see everywhere. I mean I have seen a million different ways to wear skinny jeans and long cardigans with infinity scarves and shoeties. Thanks but I'm a pear shape with a big ol' behind and you won't ever see me in skinny jeans! And shoeties look ridiculous on my short legs. I'm looking for new ideas! Come up with something new, bloggers! I could really use some different outfit ideas for different situations for the average pear-shaped figure (which I've read is the most common shape) in a size 10, 12, or 14( which I've read are the most common sizes for American women). Oh and I have a chubby belly from my babies, not unlike many other women I see. I just want some suggestions on how to pair up the new clothes out there in ways that flatter my shape for different events in life.

Before it as was a stylist website, wardrobe911 was a fantastic blog that had great ideas and links. I got several pieces from the links in that site that I still love. I wish I could find those great ideas on another blog.

I agree that most of the links are a waste of time but the blogs give me ideas for my own wardrobe and when I shop.

maybe you should start a blog, seriously. I agree that would be a great mission statement for a fashion blogger: actually catering to the majority of readers! I am not skinny but have no curves (rectangle shape technically...but some extra pounds) and the formula of skinny jeans, cardigan, boots, scarf is actually a good look for me, however EVEN i am tired of it and want new ideas. My wardrobe is almost 100% second hand so I don't care about links typically, I am just looking for colors, combos and brands to look for at the thrift stores. And outfits to copy from my own wardrobe. So I want to see some fresh combinations for sure!

gap and old navy websites have a section called Outfits we love-- I pin the ones that I like. Loft and Ann Taylor also have outfits put together ("must-have looks") -- pin! J crew and Anthropology are other sites I would check out too for outfit inspiration, not necessarily for shopping (kinda expensive).

Agree with this assessment as well. I have some of the same issues as well. I am only 37, but I just can't see myself ever wearing a pair of leggings or skinny jeans with a peasant top and a pair of knee high stiletto boots. Maybe I am just too conscious about my perceived body issues to try anything that seems trendy, but I hear you. Plus it seems like i never have enough of a fashion budget to buy even a 1/3rd of what is recommended on a specific blog.
