Minecraft for beginners

My daughter wants to play. Aside from asking a friend to show you how to play, what's the best way to learn? I tried & am a little mystified.

(She asked a boy, got shut down, now wants to figure it out for herself.)

We have Xbox. Only the demo version so far.

The Scholastic books! Lula picked up the first one at the school book fair and Santa found the boxed set at Costco.

DS mostly learned by watching YouTube videos.

Oh yeah, the videos! Paul Soares, Jr. is great. There's a YouTube Kids app out now for iOS and Android that (supposedly) only includes/allows kid-friendly videos.
