Recommend read-aloud stories / picture books for 4 and 6 year old

Hello! I am looking for recommendations for some new books for my kids -- 4 and 6 years old. I'd like some read-aloud stories with a beginning, middle, and end that use full sentences (rather than catchy rhyming lines), and that are interesting with a little bit of humor sprinkled in. Their current favorite book is Pinkalicious, and I am looking for books along this line. I have one boy and one girl, so bring on any theme! Thanks so much in advance!!
