I have the comprehensive exam for my degree this Friday. It's 6 hours. I will still have my internship and 1 lecture class final in May, but this exam is the culminating assessment. I pass it and I've pretty much got my degree (the lecture class is super easy). It's been 4 long years to get to this point. I haven't had the best study prep as my internship is very intense, so I need the famous BBB mojo!!!

When I took my exams, I was crazy busy working FT, taking finance classes for my new job and had just moved cross country. I passed! My friend who had studied non-stop and was barely working didn't--she overthought every question. You know this stuff. Just do it!

I will remember "just do it". I want it over and finished, so I can have a life with my family again. I'll go with gut answer and move on to next question.

The exam is over. I *think* I passed. There were some tricky questions, but others that I knew well. It was a VERY long day, and both mentally and physically exhausting. Now, I'm not sure what to do with myself without having to study :tongue5:

Glad it is over! Whew! I am sure you did well. When do you find out?

3-4 weeks. I can't really celebrate unitl I know I pass, so, I'm celebrating that it's over. I'm pretty sure I did well enough.

Glad it's past you. I know exactly that feeling of not knowing what to do with yourself after studying/school for so long! I'm still not sure I've figured that out -- but it's a pretty good problem to have!

niccig--just remember that you might actually feel a little depressed or "blue"--it's normal. You have put so much energy--physically, mentally, emotionally--into this. And now it's like--"what??" Hard to believe when the whole time you were studying, all you could think about was being done and having free time :-)

Give yourself some space to process and relax. Good luck on getting your results and with finishing up the rest of the program.

Thanks for the reminder. I am feeling a little bereft, I suppose is best way to describe it. I do have a tonne of regular life things to catch up on, but I'm going to take it easy this week. DH insisted on going to Barnes and Noble last night so I could buy a non-textbook to read for pleasure. It felt weird to do that. I'm back at the hospital Tues-Friday, so that will help to give me a routine.

Totally remember that feeling! While studying, I remember making mental lists of all the fun stuff I would do when it was over, and then when the exam was actually over, I felt strangely empty, no longer having that crushing pressure of "study, study, study" hanging over me. It was harder to transition back to normal life than I had imagined!

Enjoy this preview of what normal life can be like - you can come home from work and cook, have a glass of wine, flip through a magazine after DC is in bed and not feel guilty about it. :)

Yes the dreaded comps. I can't believe I'm almost done either. I've seen people take comps over the years and never thought it would be me. I passed Praxis too. Now I just have to get enough hours in my last internship and pass 1 lecture class, that's super easy. Then it'll be on to my CFY over the summer...

No dishes for me. My family has a rule, if you cook you don't do the dishes.
