This is a random question but how do you get stickers/ tags off of kitchen tools that don't go in the dishwasher? I have purchased several cookie cutters that have stickers on the side. They are impossible to get off completely and leave a sticky residue. I tried soaking in warm water over night and the cookie cutter is completely rusted. Several different brands, same issue. I don't want to use goo- away or those types of products since the cutters can't go in the dishwasher. Any tips?

Try rubbing alcohol or olive or vegetable oil.

Scrape most of it off, and rub Goo Gone on it. Oops, sorry, saw you do not want to use a Goo Gone type product. You could always just hand wash really well if you use a goo product, even if the cutters cannot go in the dishwasher.

Oil. Cooking spray, olive oil or vegetable oil all work. Apply liberally, then rub off the residue. Then wash with soap to get the oil off.

Oil or razor blade (says the chef with a few hundred cookie cutters ;)).

Use a hair dryer… before you even try to pull the stickers off. The heat will help loosen/melt the glue underneath and you can slowly peel it away. Hot water and soak should remove any sticky residue.

I use a mixture of half coconut oil, half baking soda. Works great.
