When I make quinoa from scratch, I always toast it and make it into a pilaf with onions and broth, so it's very flavorful. I bought the frozen quinoa from Trader Joe's, but it looks like it might lack flavor, since quinoa is the only ingredient. Do you use it another recipe, or do you eat it plain?

I ended up adding butter and no-salt Mexican herb blend, and my kids gobbled it up. I thought it was very bland.

OT, but how do you toast quinoa? Do you still have to boil it afterwards, or is it fully cooked after toasting? I'd like to try it!

You do still have to cook it, but this toasting step makes it SO good. I toast a big BJ's size bag and keep it in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. It takes me an hour to toast it all. (ETA: you can just toast what you're about to cook, too.)
