When I went to purchase today, I got a new offer for choosing Slower Shipping -- $5.99 toward a Pantry purchase

I passed.

I have been regularly choosing it for the $1 for Kindle purchases. But $6 for Pantry is not interesting to me at this point.

But I thought others might appreciate it!

I got that last night as well, I think it's more of a push for their pantry service. A co-worker was telling me he loves it, I could see using it if I was actually grocery shopping, but I was just getting 1 thing.

I thought about trying it out at one point, but it was too difficult for me to fill my pantry with the brands that we regularly use, so I gave up.

I used it recently to ship items to our hotel when we went to Disney. It was great for a case of water and quick breakfast and snack options.

I still don't understand how pantry works vs regular amazon or subscribe and save.

So no more $1 for slower shipping option?
Darn, I bet a lot of people pass on that, I would too.

I used pantry the other day for misc snacks, etc for our office stock and was pleasantly surprised by the prices and ease of filling said box. I like how each item shows you the % of the box it accounts for.

can you earn multiple 5.99 credits to use towards the same box?

I just placed a second order and was presented the same choice, so it would appear YES!

Have you placed your pantry order? Wondering if they'll take multiple offers off one box.

I just filled a box, but won't get the credits for the two separate orders until those items ship, I will update once they do...

Do the pantry credits you were given expire? I feel like I let a ton of my digital $1 credits expire.

DH said you cannot stack them, only one per pantry order. So it's basically like getting free shipping.

Prime Pantry is a new shopping experience on Amazon.com. Prime members can shop popular household essentials and have them conveniently delivered.
Adding your first Prime Pantry item to Cart starts a Prime Pantry box. As you shop, you see that each Pantry item tells you what percentage of a Pantry box it fills based on its size and weight. Pantry boxes are large and can hold up to 45 pounds or four cubic feet of household products. As you check items off your list, we continuously track and show you how full your box is.
You can buy as much or as little as you want for a flat $5.99 delivery fee per Prime Pantry box. Save gas, save money, save time.

Prime Pantry allows Prime members to shop a wider range of products, including heavy and bulky items, all in popular pack sizes that are cost prohibitive to ship for free.

Thanks urquie. I read that on the amazon site but wasn't sure if it required a separate subscription from Prime. But I guess all the "credit" gives you is free shipping on your Pantry order, no actual discounts.

I guess I don't really get it, because wouldn't a lot of the pantry items ship free with prime - if you ordered them separately?

Nope, that's Amazon's latest scam (or call it what you want), to detract from having a Prime membership. Just like they added the 'add on' items for Prime members a couple years ago, only allowing them to purchase smaller items (that used to ship with Prime) if they spent $35 total, now they have made many items 'Pantry items' and you can only order them as a Pantry item if you are a Prime member. (Stuff that they say they weren't able to sell before but now they can because they are charging for shipping...)

No, I think they offer different things. For example, you might be able to get a 6 pack of a certain kind of toothpaste or jelly or whatever item with prime, but with pantry you can buy a single item. It wouldn't make sense for them to offer a $3 item with prime free shipping, but that type of item would be available with pantry. Of course, there are many exceptions of small items that are available with prime, but that's the general idea.
