going into DS' class to read a book for his birthday. he has asked me to bring in one or two new, "funny" books

any great ideas for good books to read aloud to that age group?

thanks!

BJ Novak's "Book without Pictures" is pretty funny. Or one of the "Pigeon" books by Mo Willems.

Mine LOVE Book Without Pictures!!

As long as you're willing to put your heart and soul into it and read it exactly as written:)

I Need My Monster. Extra funny if you are willing to do voices.

These are great suggestions. The Day the Crayons Quit is a good one to read aloud if you do different voices for each of the crayons.

Book without Pictures - unless there's some issue with the word "butt." DD2's preschool forbids it!

Officer Buckle and Gloria? Three Ninja Pigs? Elephant and Piggie "I broke my Trunk?"

We read the Three Ninja Pigs to DS class at that age and they loved it. It's s fun twist on the three little pigs story.

Another vote for The Book With No Pictures. A poster here recommended you Google adults reading it aloud to kids to get an idea of how to read it, which I found helpful since I'm not naturally good about inflection. :) I even read it to DS1's third grade class - and I was afraid they'd be too old - but they HOWLED with laughter and absolutely loved it.

Interrupting Chicken gets hysterical laughter from kids in my experience.

Miss Brooks Loves Books and I Don't
The Z Was Zapped
Put Me in the Zoo

any of the "If You Give an (insert animal) (insert food item)" books. We have If You Give a Pig a Pancake, and If You Give a Cat a Cupcake, and I think they are fun to read.

A Giraffe and a Half by Shel Silverstein was my go-to for so long! It's a bit of a tongue twister so practice reading it aloud a couple of times. (Although the kids love when you mess it up, LOL.)
