California Grill dress code for DS

DS has khaki shorts, but they have cargo pockets, and a nice t-shirt, but no collar, and suede sneakers (not athletic, but not vans either). Will this be fine for California Grill? He doesn't own shorts without cargo pockets or a collared short-sleeve shirt and he refuses to wear those anyways. He's picky about what he wears when the weather is hot. Park gear for him will be athletic shorts/shirt from under armour/target, so this outfit is dressier.

DH will have pants and a button down shirt, and I'll have a dress and sandals.

That is perfect. While CG is more upscale we have seen people there in jean shorts and regular tshirts. Its still in a theme park environment so its not very dressy. My son always wore khaki shorts and a solid blue (blue is his favorite color) t shirt with teva sandals. We never felt he was under dressed.
