My kids start school early (mid-July), so I'm hoping for some early BTS deals. Plus, I secretly enjoy buying a few new pens and supplies for myself ;)

Ha! We're in for 2 more weeks! But look for Land's End BTS deals. I was so irritated last year when I got a BTS catalog from them while my kids were still in school.

We finished today. I think we are the earliest around here.
If you have a Meijer, they've had pens on clearance for a week or so. Some tags apparently fell from some hanging pens to boxes on a shelf. I picked up a box and got 60 pens for $2.49. It rang up $8 and when they called back, they figured out what happened. I still got them for $2.49 though.

Following! I hate Walmart but they totally did have the cheapest brand name school supplies so I am probably headed back there this time. I just can't bring myself to pay $40 to buy from the school when I can get all of it myself (and in better quantities, like 24-count crayons vs 16-count....who buys 16-count crayons??) for $20 myself.
My only issue is that there are a couple of weird things on the list, like blank spiral notebooks (exactly like the 70-page spiral wide or college ruled notebooks...but with blank pages!) but last year they let us buy those "hard to find" items on meet the teacher night.
We still have 2 and a half weeks of school left here!

I was excited today to find one of required reading books on amazon for 1/2 the price Barnes and Noble had it! I almost bought it there last week for the school fundraiser - but thought $16.99 was steep even though it was a hard back book. $16.99 at B&N... only $8.04 on amazon - score! I still supported the school with a bunch of suggested paperbacks for each kid :) at the fundraiser.

Just found Expo dry erase markers (the starter kit with eraser, cleaner and four markers) for $4 at Staples (reg. $!0.49). Great deal IMO. Sharpies were also on sale!
