I'm swapping out winter accessories for summer accessories and trying to decide if I should wash everything. Do you wash before storing? TIA

I only wash if there is visible dirt.

I'm the same. I wash if things are dirty or I know they've been worn a lot. I wash washable snow pants, jackets, hats and gloves that were worn regularly but not the extra woolens that aren't dirty and were seldom worn.

no -- never occurred to me. I only recently started to wash jackets and snow pants

Usually, unless they've been washed recently. I don't like packing away the dirt and they are always dirty.

I do, mostly because I never know what DD has gotten into.

Also, I don't have anyone to hand outgrown gear down to, so if I need to hand down when it gets cold out again, I'll have one less step to do before I ship hand-me-downs out.

No, I only wash things if they look dirty. And actually, I just unearthed the kids' coats to see if I'd need to get them new ones this year, and realized they were filthy. So I guess that means that I only wash dirty things if I notice that they're dirty. HA. So I washed the kids' coats so that they're clean and ready for this year because they mostly still fit.

I usually do because my nose makes me.
