Drum roll . . . we've gone to Defcon Bargain 1 here at HQ and are ready to track the deals on Amazon Prime Day tomorrow! The sale will be so massive, we need your help. Please post deals you found here with links to the Amazon page.

A few pointers:

• This thread will probably grow to a large size tomorrow. Subscribe to the thread to get email updates (http://windsorpeak.com/vbulletin/subscription.php?do=addsubscription&t=488652). Hint: for notification type, change to Instant notifications by email.
• You have to have Prime to get the deals. Hint: if you don't have prime, you can do a trial membership (http://amzn.to/1RxlMIO) and then cancel afterwards if you don't want to incur the annual fee.
• This sale is one day only. We imagine things will sell out, so scroll to the last page of this thread to see the latest updates and deals. A deal at 8am may not longer be there after noon, etc.

NEW! We will be live pinning as many deals as we can to Pinterest. Follow the official Pinterest Baby Bargains Board Members Deals from Amazon Prime Day 2015 (https://www.pinterest.com/babybargains/amazon-prime-day-deals-2015/). There is a sample pin of the Fire Stick up there now. (Pinterest newbies: You don't have to be a Pinterest member to see the board; but you can only follow it and see the links if you are signed in. It is free to join. Warning: Pinterest can be addictive.)

Social media: Watch our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/babybargains?ref=hl) and Twitter feed (https://twitter.com/babybargainbook) for more updates on the sale. Remember that we will only be spotlighting the deals found by our board members (you!)!

Amazon has posted a preview of the deals (source: Time):

Unsurprisingly, many of Amazon’s own products will be discounted substantially. On Prime Day, shoppers will get $15 off the Fire TV Stick (normal price: $39), $30 off Kindles (normally from $79), and $60 off Fire HD 7s (from $139), and 60% off Amazon Elements Baby Wipes (use code ELEMENTS60).

New deals will be posted periodically throughout Prime Day, and some may sell out quickly. Here’s a selection of what shoppers can expect in terms of Prime Day deals on Wednesday:
• Kindle, $30 off
• Fire HD 7, $60 off
• 32-inch LED TV, $75
• 40-inch 1080p LED TV, $115
• Brand-name 32-inch Smart HDTV, under $200
• Over 50% off two Nikon COOLPIX cameras
• Playskool Heroes Transformers Rescue Bots Optimus Prime Figure (Amazon Exclusive), $9.99
• 40 lightning deals on DVDs up to 75% off
• Up to 50% off any of the Harry Potter books
• 30% off select clothing, shoes, jewelry, watches & more
• 60% off Amazon Elements Baby Wipes with code ELEMENTS60
• Buy an Amazon.com Gift Card multipack, get $10 in Amazon.com promotional credit

There are items in the lightning deals listings right now that say "Prime Exclusive Deal" underneath. I saw at least a couple things from the above lists, but not all. You can find the times of the deals on them that way.

Just bit the bullet and bought the $99 Fire HD 16 GB with wifi/offers. I got online at 6:15am est and by 6:23am most colors are close to sold out for the promotional price. Try other colors to get the deal (eg citron, magenta) etc. Also some available "without offers" at $114.

eta, some colors have a waitlist to join

I sure hope there are a lot of deals that aren't listed in the "featured" and "exclusive" deals and upcoming deals.

Otherwise, what a lot of hype! A few things that looked like deals, for products that interest me, were fully claimed an hour ago. Nothing I would have definitely jumped on though.

yeah, that's kind of lame. I would prefer $1 in movie/book credits. Instead I kept 2 day shipping- that can't be saving them $!

Not sure. It doesn't mention the deal anywhere I can find and it doesn't list it as 100% claimed as it does for other sold out prime deals. Maybe it goes on sale later in the day?

We bought the little sleepy head pillow earlier this year at regular price. Best company!!! I saw the $6 price last week; it had a $8-9 shipping fee. So today's not a crazy deal, but the $5.99 price is misleading too. Love the pillow though!

My primary interest in the Fire Stick is the result of having samsung TVs. There are some known compatibility issues with streaming prime on many samsung TVs (lots of tech forums discuss this issue). The firestick makes my TV play nicely when I'm streaming.

I'm on my phone, but tried to link the lunchbox I got for 7 bucks. Original price is 15.99 I think. Grabbed it as great price to try out DS1 lunchbox options, so won't be too upset if it doesn't work out.

I got the sandwich entree one.

Coming up on 1pm Eastern, 10am Pacific: we see a Peg Perego Book Stroller coming up. Earlier today, the same stroller in a different color sold for $240 (typical price is $340). We will pin this if it is a good deal!

Also coming up: a Graco SnugRide Classic Connect infant seat, Graco Pack N Play and Graco Blossom high chair at the half hour (45 minutes from now).

is anyone having trouble adding things to your cart? i am trying to get this deal http://www.amazon.com/Intex-12ft-30in-Easy-Pool/dp/B00OX5BB6A/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1436973511&sr=8-1&keywords=intex+pool+12 but it just keeps says "checking deal status" without giving me an option to add it.

Same thing happened to me!

:yeahthat::yeahthat: So frustrating! I even chatted with customer support, they tried adding a deal to my cart, but it showed up with the regular price.

The gift card promotion said it had ended when I tried to check out. Huh.

Try again? I just ordered now, as I was on my way out earlier. There is a button on the page to push and it was in my cart when I checked out. I had to get $25 cards now. But, just before I pushed Place Order, it said it was applied and a $10 credit would come after the cards ship.

Is this just a one time use, one item only code? Because that's what it appears to be for me. If I try and get two of one item it's just taking 35% off one of them.

Yes, I have bought this set 2 years in a row for our kids (they are good quality but get lots of use so the sticks get broken/lost and this deal is better than just 2 sticks!)...but the three older ones play hockey and all 4 are sports kids. It's fun for us too really!

I feel like we're all subjects in some grand consumer psychology experiment. How much money will people spend if they *think* they're getting a deal, even if they don't need the stuff? I placed 3 orders in the last 12 hours, all for things I actually needed, but certainly more likely because of this dang sale!

Yes, the button is the clip the coupon. I couldn't remember when I wrote the last post! Mine went through as a gift, so I had to go through all the steps and right below Step 4 of 4, it said it was applied and I would get the email after they ship.

I really only use the pressure cooker function. I bought it to replace a stove top pressure cooker and LOVE LOVE LOVE it. I wasn't really looking for a new one but I fell prey to the thread here last October when it dropped to $108 which was great price, so the $99 is fantastic. (There are more than one threads around the time of that sale that had some great recipes and websites listed, the only one I have regularly used is this one: http://www.pressurecookingtoday.com/). We cook alot of lentils and beans and it works great. I can't really tell that the taste or cook is any different than on the stove top pressure cooker that we had but it is so much easier to use than the stove top one--you push a few buttons and nothing more to do until the time goes off. The other functions may be great too, I've just never used them.

Yes, works great for lentils and beans. I've used it to make several types of beans using the chart in the book that comes with it, and I just add maybe an extra 2-3 mins or so depending on the item (chart says they are minimum cooking times).

I will say that my one surprise with it is that while cooking time isn't long for many dishes, it takes a while to build up to pressure and then starts the timer. So some things can be done quickly (like no presoak for beans, cook under pressure for roughly 30 mins depending on what the recommendation is in the book for that bean), some things are not *as fast* as I thought it would be since coming up to pressure takes a while. Just tossing that out there for anyone who is debating getting one. That said, it really does a fantastic job with tenderizing certain cuts of meat, building a lot of flavor in a short time, etc. It also happens to be awesome for making hard boiled eggs that are easily peeled. Check out the hip pressure cooking site for ideas on how to use it.

I mostly plan to use the pressure cooker for lentils and beans (to replace my tiny stovetop cooker), and the rice cooker function. Given your comments, I hope those both work effectively! A little more time I can deal with, but it has to actually cook well.

I have not been as successful with the rice cooker part of it. I have tried basamati rice and it always come out too soft mushy or under-cooked. I guess I haven't figured the water to cook time ratio for rice.

But I love it as it has replaced my older rice cooker, stove top pressure cooker and slow cooker. I love love the saute function as it lets me finish a dish in one single pot. Example - saute onions , veg etc , then add beans or meat - pressure cook. Then finally let it slow cook for 6-8 hours to blend flavors. All in one pot.

Successfully used the yogurt setting to make yogurt and ferment batters. Used it to make boiled eggs etc. It has really performed way beyond my expectation for a multipurpose gadget.

No way! This sounds like it would be good for Indian meals like biryani or batters for dosas and idlis. YES! I'll have to work on the basmati rice issue, although I have no problem with stovetop cooking rice (my DH does).

When i make rice (i made basmati last night, actually) i use less water than what is called for. I cooked 1 cup of rice with 1 3/4 cups water. I don't have an instantpot, but i have the fagor 3 in 1 cooker. Same idea, less programs and buttons.

Aside from the instant pot (which I already bought during the last great deal on here!) I'm feeling like this sale is totally meh. Not in the market for a kindle or TV so nothing I want, nothing to buy and store for gifts. Just meh.

I used my IP a TON when I first got it but have fallen off the wagon. Need to start using again or it's a very pricey paper weight. I found it cooks rice fine for me (Jasmine) but it isn't any faster than the stovetop so I stopped using it for that.

Yes! I have successfully fermented idli and dosa batters in winter. Have not made a biryani yet as I am yet to figure out the rice cooking. I have made dal makani, rajma and chole in it start to finish. Friends think it is so well blended in flavors and the the beans kind of melt into the sauce as I slow cook it over night. Chicken curry has also turned out good. I would like to make some asian style fish stews/sauces in it next.

Thanks, I tried again and was able to grab one of the latterns, but I don't think it gave me the offer of the No Rush shipping credit (I was in a hurry though, so may have missed it). Wish they would have let me order two of those latterns so I could have one for each girl when we camp. This has been a dud of a sale for me, bought kid gardening gloves and a mini lantern is all. Amazon is saying an additional 25% off select Britax Sears at checkout, but no additional money came off for the Parkway SGL G1, which was listed at $128.

The only 2 Britax car seats I can find on sale are this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LO7IQ22/ for $311.99 and this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00D04R2IG/ for $103.99. Additionally, the 2014 Britax B-Agile stroller is on sale for $197.99: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HVAJC06/.

I wish I had seen this earlier! I LOVE dosas and Idlis but it's not humid/warm enough where I live and it's really had to get the batter to ferment. I already have an electric 3-1 pressure cooker though.

I have seen both the SGL and the SG for those prices a number of times. I was kind of hoping for a $100 SGL though.

Well, I didn't figure out until the last minute that the 15% off applied to everything in the warehouse. I bought a pair of Clarks booties I'd been watching for about $16. I was very tempted by an instant pot that would have come down to $80 but we really didn't need to spend that money. I wanted to keep poking around but then my internet started acting up. So the total of my purchases was one swim diaper, which was on my buy list for this week and the boots. At least I didn't go overboard but seriously disappointed in the sales from Amazon as well as the glitches that kept me from buying the few things I was interested in. Lame.

Thank you for posting that! I got the magenta and I think that will be done soon too. I was waiting for a deal like this for my kids.

yay!! glad you got one :)

I agree with PP, the sale was kind of lame. I had little interest in most of the items on sale. My DS was watching the news and he heard one news outlet claim it was a way to clear out Amazon's inventory. Interesting thought since so many of the items seemed so random.

So disappointed!!! I was hoping to get a jump start on some Xmas items for the boys.

Nothing was good there or didn't need it, and some others already had like instant pot. I did get two things though...lunchblox that was half price and mascara PP linked.

I read that Walmart version of prime way went way better. Don't know whether it's true since I haven't even gone in their website.

That really was what it seemed like to me. I bought a copy of one Harry Potter book, since my copy of that one is falling apart from use & one set of the mini Skylanders. That was all I saw (that didn't sell out almost immediately) that I had any interest in.

The Walmart sale is still ongoing. I'm browsing the website now to see if there's anything we 'need'. Free shipping over $35 so not hard to avoid going into the store.

I was underwhelmed by the sale, but was still able to get several things I'd been looking for for a while. Trap Team Skylanders for my kids (seriously, these things are really hard to find in B&M stores, even at full price), some legos, an essential oils diffuser and a Samsonite suitcase set.

Thanks to all that posted to this thread.

We would agree on the disappointment—we were monitoring the babies and kids area specifically for deals. Many of the items did seem like inventory clearance—the Graco SnugRide Classic Connect for example. That seat has been discontinued (Graco isn't making any more Classic Connect seats, but selling through existing stock). And it was a funky color pattern . . . so either Amazon or Graco decided that was a good one to put on Prime Day. Still the price ($70) was not bad (before the sale it was $100) for a seat that is compatible with most stroller makers' adapter bars.

Other items seemed like they were scraping the bottom of the barrel—there were numerous diaper bags and car seats from second-tier brands "on sale."

On the other hand, Amazon would then sprinkle in deals on hot items, like the Graco Blossom high chair. . . which of course sold in mere minutes. It's hard to know if they just put 5 units on sale or 500 or 5000—or that so many folks were watching this that they sold out fast. This seemed to be repeated with the better brands: Motorola, Clek, Medela, Recaro. A great deal that would evaporate quickly. Hence, the obvious frustration!

Amazon's biggest mistake (if they are reading this, we say this from a place of deep admiration . . . please don't stop selling our books :) ) was billing this as a Better Than Black Friday sale. For Black Friday, there are very few items for sale that are beyond their expiration date or out of season. Example: On Prime Day, Amazon was offering a deal on a Baby Jogger stroller footmuff. Not a Baby Jogger stroller . . . just a footmuff. In July.

I think this is what brought about the social media jokes yesterday (the most famous was an extra long shoe horn . . . not shoes). http://nyti.ms/1f7L7XY

Just our two cents.

FYI: Join us for a thread here on the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale tomorrow (Friday)! Thanks to Nordstrom for giving us a break between sales. Viva zapatos!
