Wal-mart has the CraZart brand for 50c and Crayola for $1.97.

I swear, the people who make up the school supply list are crazy. Of course we need the 12 ct and only the 10 ct goes on sale. And my daughter needs Sargent Colored pencils. WTH?

I care less every year about sticking to the supply list. ;) Middle school was a liberation - no list at all!!

Does your school also do the school supply kits that parents can order? Our school does and they just take the list from the company. So some of the brands are specific to the company (i.e. Staples) but they told us that you can get any brand that's equivalent. The 12 ct colored pencils from Target are cheap. Just get those.

And funny, because my school asks for 10 ct. colored pencils but I only see the 12 ct from Crayola so I just buy those!

I think that's what I'll do. Not worry about the brand. I'm a little concerned about "short changing" my son by 2 markers though. lol.
