What is a good lift program? I am looking at Stronglift 5x5. I begin with a trainer on Tuesday so I will see what she has me do, but I can't afford to utilize her for very long so I may start a different program if I don't care for hers.

Les Mills Body Pump! I do it at the Y but I know there are You Tube videos.

I've been using the videos on fitnessblender.com

The videos are all free and the instructions are clear. There are also lots of options in terms of types of workouts, length, difficulty level, etc.

I've been wondering about this too. I'm a little tired of my p90X videos, and think that some lifting would be great for me. But I don't want to have to go to the gym to do it...

I love the New Rules of Lifting books. I started with the "for Women" version, but it's a bit outdated now. They're coming out with an update, titled "Strong" -- I think it will be out this month. I also started the "for Abs" book and my husband started "Supercharged." I moved onto using a trainer at a lifting gym, and my husband had to stop working out. But I LOVE those books/programs.

I also really liked "Drop Two Sizes" for losing weight while lifting. I did it twice (second time was for rehab after an injury).

ETA: There's a great FB group for the New Rules of Lifting for Women, but includes people doing several different lifting programs. PM me if you'd like a link!
