If you were hosting one of your son's good friends (5th grade) for a sleepover and the friend tried to "take" one of your son's video games, would you let their parents know?

Not unless I was very, very, very close with the parents.

Depends on how close he was to success and how close I am to the parents. But more than likely I wouldn't say anything. Otherwise, bad judgment on other kid's part and teaching moment with my kid.

I would confront the kid but not likely tell the parents. If they asked how it went, I might bring it up but make light of it, "Your Ds must really like GameName, he was really wanted to take Ds' copy home with him." Some kids have a history of doing things like this and that would give them a heads up. If it seems a surprise to the parents then I would leave it at that.
