The most recent thread I found was back from 2011. What are the current favorites for waterproof mattress pads? We're about to transition our DD from her toddler bed to a twin. We just bought the frame & mattress today, but still need to put it together so I've got a bit of time before the mattress will actually be in use.

As an interim, I bought a NATTLIG (http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/00253139/) and a couple LEN (http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/40143304/) while we were at Ikea today. Between those and the ones we've been using on the crib that should be fine until we get something better if it turns out that there's something with fabulous recommendations.

DD is not yet potty trained, but we're starting that in the run up to the new year so that she can hopefully go to preschool after the first of the year. She has a rather nice mattress, so I'd much prefer to keep it fluid free as much as possible.

We just have some from Kohl's...used some coupon codes on top of sales. Things don't change too quickly in the waterproof mattress pad industry as far as I can tell. Just buy 2 so when one is dirty, you have another to stick on the bed right away.

We have gotten some at Kohls, Target, and TJMaxx/Homegoods. Definitely agree with the suggestion to get 2!

I use Ikea covers. Cheap and they wash well. I usually air dry them. Definitely get at least 2. One stomach flu or a rough night of potty accidents and you'll be thankful for the extras.

This one doesn't appear to be waterproof. :(

Do you know which one you're using mikala? There were a couple at Ikea and I went with the flat one (mostly for ease in middle of the night changes). Good to know that yours have held up!

I think we have this one: http://m.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/art/10281226/

I'm probably paranoid by air drying but our dryer runs hot on the normal setting. I have machine dried on delicate a couple times and it was fine.

Honestly any are probably fine as long as they stay put under the fitted sheet. I did layer a smaller non Ikea flat pad over the fitted sheet during potty training to minimize laundry.

I really like the Lands End one: http://www.landsend.com/products/waterproof-mattress-pad/id_80983

It doesn't crinkle AT ALL and it washes well. We've had them for 6+ years, and have one on our bed, too.

We have an allergen waterproof cover from BB&B. The whole thing goes over the mattress like a pillowcase, but the top zips off for easy laundering. I layer an IKEA pad over the top (I used to layer crib sheets and crib pads too) so that I don't have to strip the whole bed each time.

I bought the cheapest (14.99) one at Target just yesterday, and DD2 slept on it last night without complaint. And she's picky ;).
