Need book recs for a kindergarten girl.

DS's K class is doing a holiday book exchange. Apparently they drew names and he got a girl. Any suggestions? They have asked for cost of $5 or less.

I'd go for Fancy Nancy. There are a few Prime options for less than $5.

One of DD's favorites is The Princess in Black - you can get the paperback edition on Amazon for that price point (OK, it's $5.33 (http://www.amazon.com/Princess-Black-Shannon-Hale/dp/0763678880/ref=sr_1_1_twi_pap_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1448323662&sr=1-1&keywords=the+princess+in+black))

She is also partial to the Katie Fry, Private Eye books. The first one is The Lost Kitten and it goes for $3.99 (http://www.amazon.com/Scholastic-Reader-Level-Private-Kitten/dp/0545666724/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1448323792&sr=1-1&keywords=katie+fry+private+eye+the+lost+kitten).

We are also huge Mo Willems fans here, but we mostly get the Pigeon books. Sadly, I rarely see those at the price point you're looking for ($5 and under.)

I second this. DD was way into fancy Nancy from k-2. The paperbacks and easy readers are under $5.

My DD loves Ladybug Girl! There are several titles in that series for $5 or less.
