So I pulled out my DDs dollhouse from storage to give to a friend, and DH just informed me that my almost 2 year old DS is having a great time driving his cars all over it and up and down the staircase....and it occurred to me he would probably love a car garage! We have a serious lack of space though and I really didn't want to buy any new big toys...are there any good options that are on the smaller side?

Thanks!

There is one at Ikea that is nice and small and I think it's even on sale right now.

Thanks- I don't have an IKEA near me though. I can't order it online right?

What about something like this?

http://www.amazon.com/Fisher-Price-Little-People-Wheelies-Carrier/dp/B00SO7HM9I/ref=sr_1_12?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1449259017&sr=1-12&keywords=fisher+price+garage

We had something like it. It folds up so its out of the way.

Is your son just 2 or almost 3? Does he like watch cars go down ramps, or line them up more? Does he still chew on toys? What kinds of cars does he drive around, younger kid ones, or matchbox/hotwheels ?(Don't worry about actually answering, just some questions that might help you narrow your garage choice down). I just bought my almost 3yr old a large hotwheels ultimate garage since he likes lining cars up and ramps (don't get that if space is a concern, it's huge!).

If your son likes ramps, check out BluTrack (http://www.amazon.com/BluTrack-18sklarge-18-Starter-Set/dp/B000YC3PE2/ref=pd_sim_21_7?ie=UTF8&dpID=41CpTdlp4cL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_&refRID=1821F9S84VQKZ18MZHH7) it works with hotwheels and matchbox, rolls up small for storage too (we have it at home and my little one has been playing with the big brother on it since he was 1).

Small garage that locks Battat 3 Car Garage Playset (http://www.amazon.com/Battat-3-Car-Garage-Playset/dp/B00OBWJUYK/ref=pd_sim_21_4?ie=UTF8&dpID=41Vee5kccAL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_&refRID=1FK5HRVD10JNBMP25PET). Similar wooden version ,Melissa & Doug Lock and Roll Rescue Garage (http://http://www.amazon.com/Melissa-Doug-Lock-Rescue-Garage/dp/B00FJ5VSPC/ref=sr_1_17?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1449280760&sr=1-17&keywords=car+garage). I don't own either, but they looked interesting, and smaller sized.

Another small garage , Fisher-Price Little People Wheelies Garage (http://www.amazon.com/Fisher-Price-Little-People-Wheelies-Garage/dp/B00FBWFK52/ref=sr_1_30?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1449281884&sr=1-30&keywords=car+garage). Large one, Fisher-Price Little People City Skyway (http://http://www.amazon.com/Fisher-Price-Little-People-City-Skyway/dp/B00J2NPEHK/ref=sr_1_3?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1449280499&sr=1-3).

Then there is the VTech line of cars and roads like the VTech Go! Go! Smart Wheels Spinning Spiral Tower Playset (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00K89KPFS/ref=s9_al_bw_g21_i1). You can expand it with addition sets if you want. I don't own, but some nephews do and love it.

Something I have bought, but have on my wishlist, Classic Road Series 30'x2" Black Road (http://www.amazon.com/Classic-Road-30x2-Black/dp/B00GZ8UE2K/ref=sr_1_63?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1449280520&sr=1-63) It is tape that looks like a road, so you can make your own... Those rugs that look like roadways and town are fun too, we have one.

HTH, I have spent way to much time looking up cars and garages lately for my DS2 who loves them.

Blue, thanks so much for taking the time to write all that out for me and include links too. My DS is going to be 2 in January. He doesn't chew toys at all, and likes lining cars up, driving them around on any surface (window sills etc), pushing them down ramps...you name it. I'm going to look into all the options you mentioned and see which makes the most sense for him. Thanks again!
