On Dec. 17 Minecraft will be available for the Wii U for $29.99. http://www.theverge.com/2015/12/7/9860740/minecraft-nintendo-wii-u
The link mentions how game play can continue on the game pad if the tv is in use (you know, like if you want to watch a show). That's one of my favorite WiiU features.
Anyway, thought this might help people think through video game console purchases this holiday season. :)

Oh wow. I was debating on whether to go ahead and get a Wii U for Christmas. I think this seals the deal. My DD will be very excited!

Thanks, but kind of bummed that it will only be available via download. I had nothing but problems with my Nintendo Wii U account so I deleted it and never reset one up.

DS told me today he wanted this and I already knew about it because of this thread. :) I didn't realize it was a download though. He wanted to preorder at Amazon.

Thank you!! DD2 is obssessed with Minecraft and we have the Wii U. Being able to play it on the game pad may just make buying a new version of it worthwhile.

my son is getting Wii U for Christmas..i guess Minecraft will be purchased soon. He plays it all the time on ipad and computer
