All right, my Ebates savings look pitiful compared to some of y'all. So, how much have you gotten back with Cartwheel? :)

For me, $546.93 since June 2013.

Less than $20?? I have to admit to hating Cartwheel. I just find it very tedious to use the app instore. It takes sooo long to load, so I usually don't bother.

Curious, do most of you look at what's available for Cartwheel discounts before you shop instore? Or do you just wing it?

I use the barcode scanner and check everything I put in my cart. I like that they'll tell you if a similar item has a deal (like up&up vs brand name). I almost never look through the deals, but this time of year I check to see what the 50% deal of the day is.

Total savings is $502.78 since 10/2013.

There are certain things we use regularly that live in my list (milk, bagels, cheese), and then I'll do a quick run through of things I know I need to pick up while I'm there before going to the store and see if there's any to add. Once at the store, I check again if I pick up items that weren't on my list. On Sunday mornings, I'll run through the "weekly ad" list and a couple of the categories (apparel/toys) to see if I need to run by at some point during the week.

I find Cartwheel very cumbersome. Would someone share tips / tricks to using it? TIA

$159.29 since May 2013. I like to load some offers from home before I shop. I search by discount first. When I get down to the 15-20% range I search with terms like organic or syrup or whatever. I focus on higher priced items. 5% off one lime isn't worth it imo.

My total would be higher except DH does a lot of the grocery shopping and he doesn't use it.

my phone is too old to allow cartwheel and I find it quite burdensome to use as well.

Don't bother searching. Use the barcode scanner. It's in the app menu. Scan everything you're going to buy anyway. Sometimes it's 5% off eggs, but sometimes it's an extra 40% off clearance or 20% off toilet paper.

$168.48, member since June 2013

I usually search by discount, then add anything that might interests me. When I go to the store, I try to check everything I put in my cart. Sometimes even when I don't think I have anything, I make the cashier scan it anyways. Why can't they just give me the discount since I already have the Cartwheel app, instead of making me jump thru hops each time I shop!!

Does anyone know if Cartwheel discounts will stack with the 20% off coupon from Black Friday? Trying to decide if I should bother looking for cartwheel deals when I use my coupon....

Yes it will stack. You can usually stack one manufacturer's coupon, one target coupon, and one cartwheel coupon per item.

Eta: $141.41 since December 2013.

Thanks--that's really helpful!!

One more question: if they do a price match will they take the 20% coupon off the matched price or do they offer one or the other deal? I've seen conflicting reports about this.

The general answer seems to be "it depends on the manager." I've priced matched and been able to use % off coupons + Cartwheel before, but I've heard of others who were told that once items are price matched, they can't add any coupons to the total.

Wow. I saved a whopping $8 lol. Most of the items I buy aren't on cartwheel and at least 40% of the time the app doesn't work where it won't let me log in even though I know I have the right password. Like somehow it logs me out. Frustrating

$278, but I hate it too. It's a lot of work for not that much savings. I buy most of my non-perishable groceries there, so it adds up.

My target won't price match and use cartwheel.

$447.84 since Nov 2013. Not bad! Much of that was a huge discount on an iPad Air and Rosetta Stone.

I do a combination of looking ahead of time, on the computer, and scanning in-store.

$79 since July 2013. Unfortunately, Cartwheel came along after we were through a lot of The Biscuit's baby needs.

Thanks for the tips on scanning!!!
