I am looking for advice on how to get started with homeschool at the Middle School Level.

Thanks so much.

Check the forums at the Well Trained Mind. There are sub forums on middle grades (logic stage I believe?).

Read the book too, though a new edition is coming out soon so you might want to wait for the new edition. Also consider what type of schooling you are interested in. Do you want an all in one program or do you want to mix up different pieces to match the student, I.e., a harder math but on grade level language arts, etc. I think the beauty of homeschooling is really being able to meet the student's needs. On the Well Trained Mind (WTM) forums they usually recommend decompressing for awhile after traditional schooling. You might want to take some time off and then slowly add in the basics and maybe focus on something that interests them.

http://cathyduffyreviews.com Is a great way to check out different options for every subject. She reviews different products so you can get an idea what's out there and then go look into it further.

You might also look into a local homeschool coop in your area and get some ideas about what is available to you regarding classes, groups, etc.

2 free curriculums I've heard about on a facebook group I joined when I was considering HSing are
Easy Peasy All in one Homeschool http://allinonehomeschool.com/
Discovery K12 (which is not the same as K12 online public school essentially) http://discoveryk12.com/dk12/

I know someone who used Time4learning for a year as well and were happy with it (added some extras themselves) https://www.time4learning.com/
