Does anyone know if it is ok to take elderberry syrup 2 weeks after receiving the flu shot? I'm asking because I was told not to take Advil right after the flu shot since it can decrease the vaccine's efficacy. Wondering if it's the same thing for elderberry syrup (and it 2 weeks is long enough regardless). I think I'm getting DC's cold so would like to try to nip it in the bud with elderberry.

I wouldn't think it a problem. Elderberry boosts your own immune response. A flu shot causes your body to mount an immune response. So I wouldn't think that the Elderberry would counteract the vax, and if anything, enhance it. And, I guess if it did counteract, that 2 weeks would be plenty of time to have passed. Isn't that the amount of time they say it takes for the vax to become fully effective?
