I made Christmas Crack last year and liked it. I wondered if anyone can compare it to Matzoh Buttercrunch or whatever you call it. Same thing, but use Matzo instead of saltines.

I hate matzoh by itself, but maybe it's greater substantial-ness would be better. I know there are lots of Matzoh Buttercrunch recipes out there, so some people are choosing it.

Here is the Christmas Crack recipe, for anyone who wants it. http://www.averiecooks.com/2011/12/chocolate-saltine-toffee.html

Also, do you use salted or unsalted saltines? I could see unsalted as being the safe choice, but the salted might be a fabulous sweet-salty flavor... but I fear it might also be TOO salty.

salted all the way - it's a nice mix w/ the sweet and salty. I make at least 2 full sheets of this each season!

I agree - salted for sure!

Salted, but try graham crackers sometime. You could sprinkle the caramel or chocolate with salt or add salted pecans.

I always use salted.
