Has anyone seen this in their store? Target will exchange certain gift cards for a Target GC, based on the "market value" of the other cards. Clever idea to do it right in the store.

The mega retailer is offering a new gift card buyback program this year. The program allows you to bring your unused or unwanted third-party gift cards to a mobile kiosk in the store and exchange it for a Target Gift Card. Based on the type of gift card you bring, you will receive an offer that you can accept or decline.

I wish there was an online tool to use to check as I have a large value gift card and have been looking for the most valuable option to sell it, which right now seems to be a site like cardpool.

Is there any way to see which Target stores are participating?

Thanks for sharing! I've had a $50 Bed Bath & Beyond gift card forever that would be a good candidate.

I saw the kiosk last week at guest service in my store in VA. It looked like a gas station ATM, but all red. I didn't realize then what it was. It just had a screen that said something about cards and not being in service yet.

I wonder if store credit GCs are eligible. I have like $110 for TCP that I can't use online and I haven't been to their store in years.

If you do BBB and get a good return, let us know. I have a card languishing at home too.

I found an article on it that says it's at nearly all stores and at the electronics counter: http://www.startribune.com/don-t-like-the-gift-card-you-got-for-christmas-target-other-retailers-will-offer-you-a-trade/363487621/

I wish the website would give me an estimate for my GC before I go to a kiosk. I'll compare between Target and Coinstar. I have a large Pier 1 GC that I want to exchange.
