Was thinking about taking my DC but after reading reviews on Common Sense, rethinking it.

How old are your kids? It does not look like a kids movie to me at all.

Yep, I'm thinking the same thing. They are 10 and 14.

My brother saw it with his kids - 10 and 13 - and said it was a major let down. He said all the funny parts were shown in the trailers

We were going to go to the movies with friends the other day, but when they decided on this one we bailed. They told us after that we made the right choice. Go see Star Wars!

We went to the movies on Sunday. We couldn't decide between Daddy's Home and Point Break. We ended up
seeing Point Break. None of us really liked it.

Thanks everyone, I think we will skip it. Was trying to avoid Alvin and the Chipmunks [emoji23]

DDs really want to see this, and I really don't, LOL. Thanks for the reviews, I'll try even harder to skip it!

Sounds like we all had the same pretty bad selection of movies over the holidays -- Alvin was everywhere, as was Daddy's Home. We ended up with the uninspired Movies on Demand on cable.

We took my 12 yr old to see it. We all thought it was funny but at one point I asked my DH what it was rated because it seemed more mature than PG-13.

My 13 yo DC also thought it was more mature than PG13. They saw it with XH so I can't comment since I didn't see it. I can say that I wasn't interested so I'm glad they won't be asking!

My 9 year old wants to see it. Probably wait until it's on Netflix.

no I haven't seen it and while I enjoy both Mark Wahlberg, and Will Farrell I can't get past all of the Laker stuff I saw in the kids room during the preview.....yes I know a totally stupid reason to not see a movie, but living in the land of purple and gold I can't stand the Lakers. My kids have also showed zero interest.

Thanks for asking. This one looks the most appealing of the holiday movies (and we always go to the movies during the holidays) but I guess we're stuck with Alvin, too.

We've seen Alvin and the Chipmunks twice. My boys loved it! We went opening day and the theater was packed. Kids seemed to really enjoy it. It won't win any awards, but it was fairly good as far as kid movies go. I've certainly seen much worse!!!
