I had to order my reading glasses because of my astigmatism. I used old frames for them to save $, and then they broke.

Two choices I can see are:
Order the same frame - $38 http://www.clickshades.com/cart.php and have my ophthalmologist's office (where I got them in the first place) pop my lenses in the new (old style) frames.

Go get a new prescription written down and have the ophth. shop give me any guidance they will in ordering new frames and lenses from zenni. Something like this would be a total of less than $20.http://www.zennioptical.com/womens-plastic-oval-eyeglass-frames-128117.html

What would you do?

I would probably do the second option. Would there be an issue with just sending the prescription to zenni? I have not done mail order glasses yet, but do get my glasses from Costco and I have astigmatism...I think the prescription is the prescription, right? Is there something else your ophth does for you with your glasses?

I think it depends on the severity (complication) of your prescription. My astigmatism is pretty bad and I can't do online glasses.

First I'd check to see if any of them have a warranty. Our ophthalmology place offers 1 year warranty on frames, 2 year on lenses. Between myself and the kids we've used that warranty so many times. Otherwise I'd go with the frame you know fits your face for $38. Save yourself the hassle of trying on new frames.

I would do whichever is fastest. I do buy my glasses from Zenni - I didn't start wearing glass until 4 years ago and mostly only need them for distance (although the distance is getting closer and closer lately) so I take them off a lot and misplace them so I can't have enough pairs of glasses (I usually get progressive lenses).
