American Girl outfits were a HUGE HIT for Christmas. They are SO expensive though, but I do like that they're quite nice quality, and come together in a whole set (top, bottoms, shoes, a hair accessory).

What are some alternatives that are comparable in quality and will fit?

Or when should I keep an eye out for online sales? The B&M store is close enough, but I HATE going (it's next to the Galleria here and the parking/traffic/crowds makes me soooo twitchy).

Search on eBay for the seller tbiever or dorys doll boutique, she had great items that fit our AG dolls, cheap shipping.

My girls have a mix of stuff by Our Generation (Target), Springfield (Ac Moore/Michaels), Dollie and Me (I usually buy the matching sets from Kohls w/ a coupon), and Sophia (bought on Amazon Warehouse at a discount). Also have bought large lots on Ebay that are a mix of brands. Most items from the off brands fit, but a few are a bit tight or I need to help them dress/undress the doll. The only thing we've had that absolutely does not fit an AG doll is a dress that must have come on an older Madame Alexander doll - it is too tight to velcro up the back on AG doll, but fits our Dollie and Me doll fine (it is not stuffed as much in the body as the AG doll).

The quality at this online store is REALLY good https://dollclothesshop.com. I have ordered about 15 outfits from here. The historic inspired stuff is beautiful. I have not been disappointed. Way better than the michaels or target stuff.

Have you tried Etsy? I bet you can find some great doll clothes on Etsy that would be perfect
for an AG doll.

Both fit her AG doll great and she loves them!

DD also has a Bitty Baby and my in-laws bought her a number of outfits from Sophia's via Amazon. All fit very well, so I would imagine they do as good a job with the regular 18" doll outfits.
