El Nino is coming! Looking for an inexpensive rain coat shell for my 12YO DD who is small adult woman sized (5 ft tall and 100 pounds). She previously had the LLBean trail model rain jacket (the unlined one), which we loved because she is usually wearing her fleece jacket with the rain coat. I'd get her a new LLB jacket (I think the XL would probably work), but they are way more expensive than the last time I bought one for her. Are there any other less expensive options? There are a bunch on amazon, but who knows how those will fit? or are there any decent ones out there at B&M stores?

I'm wanting one that isn't fitted since she wears a sweater/fleece underneath it. and she hates anything tight.

FYI here's what she outgrew http://www.llbean.com/llb/shop/82019?feat=trail%20model-SR0&page=kids-trail-model-rain-jacket

ETA: she's not interested in the sale colors. of course.

TIA

If she's not opposed to Navy, Lands End has one for $20.

I think that would be great if it were waterproof! the description says it's only water resistant. :(

We have tried lots of kids raincoats, and none are as nice as the llbean. I have bought used of eBay and those have been ok too.

I picked up a really inexpensive rain jacket for me at Costco before the holidays. I think it was around $15. It came in a box and was in the section near socks and underwear. Mine is grey, but I think they also had a purplish color. I wore it in the rain and was surprised that it was very good at keeping out the water.

ETA: a size small or extra small might work for your DD.

I got the purple one! I've only used it a couple times so far, but really like it.

I've gotten a couple of Marmot rain jackets from sierratradingpost. With a code, the price is not too bad.

These are great for keeping dry! :)

I'm about 110-115 and 5'3" and I get the small (or medium if you want to be able to fit layers underneath).

Sierra Trading Post, Campmor, or REI outlet--all are great!

I really like the REI one I got for B. Seems to work very well.
