This seems like a really great deal! I wish there was a Costco closer to us! The nearest one is 2 hours away, wop wop.

Our membership is up in April, and is currently under my name (with DH as an additional cardholder). According to what I have read on Slickdeals, DH can purchase this deal and sign up as a new customer (this time with me as the additional cardholder).

Good to know because we're current members with me as the primary as well. Thanks!

If my MIL purchases and goes to Costco and gets her card, can she add us as an additional cardholder and we get our card at a later date? We currently live 2 hours from Costco but are moving near one in June.

I would do this but we have such a huge history of purchases on our Costco card, and I like the ability to return if something needs to be returned. I don't keep receipts, and not sure if the forever return policy applies if the membership isn't current.

Will you be living with her? The additional cardholder is for people living in the same household:
"The household card member must be over the age of 18 and must reside at the same address as the Primary Member."

Yes, they've gotten much more strict about this. You have to show proof that you live at the same address as the primary card holder.

Has anyone gotten a promo code to work with this?

no go on the promo.

I'm debating whether to get one in dh and/or my mom's name. We have SIL as our second card (just switched it last summer without a problem.), which hasn't been a problem because dh never goes alone. For the next couple months I need dh or my mom to be able to go without me. This will probably balance out to more affordable than adding a 3rd card as long as we use the coupons. Although, we have the exec card, so we won't get anything back this way. decisions, decisions...

Oh man, that is a good point. I am planning on making some bigger purchases soon, specifically from Costco for the return policy (rug cleaner, etc), and it would be a huge pain if I had an issue after switching memberships. I think we will just do a regular renewal, sometimes being cheap isn't worth it!

A belated thank you to OP. I've never actually been in a Costco, but our new place has one five minutes away so I snagged a membership.

So: what do I need from Costco? Seriously, any particular deals or products I can't live without?
