Anyone ever had a period with lots of clots

I usually have really light periods, like just 1 day of flow then really light for 2 days. It has been this way for several years now. I am 39 and am not on any kind of birth control.
Today is day 1 of my period and while the flow is not heavier than usual, I have been noticing that I am passing clots each time I use the bathroom. I am cramping a bit but nothing too bad.

Should I be concerned at all? I think I'll go into a depression or something if this is menopause, I am not at all prepared for it, but it makes me wonder.

Probably not menopause. But this started happening to me after always having very light periods. Then my periods got longer and heavier and more frequent. Ended up being fibroids.

Well I know I have one fibroid since before I had kids, it's outside the uterus. I have not had a gyn see me in a really long time now. My doctor is so busy no appt. until July.
