My 6 year old wants me to make ramen soup at home ( since I dont let her eat those instant noodles packs..)..

Do you any of you have any healthy recipes?

Also- I never use stock in my cooking. So What can I use instead? thought on bouillons or better than bouillon soup base? They seem to have so much sodium! Anyone has a low sodium / organic alternative? ( i know i know.. I am asking for everything !)

I haven't tried this recipe ... just recently pinned it on pinterest. You may not want to go spicy for your 6 year old but maybe you can work around it or maybe you can find a recipe on pinterest?

Our family loves this recipe, and you could pare it down to make it closer to the instant noodle style if you want. One of the commenters suggests using fresh/frozen ramen noodles in place of the dry. http://www.melskitchencafe.com/kicked-up-ramen-noodles-kung-pao-style/ Warning that it is quite spicy (we like it that way, but ymmv!).

We use the organic Better Than Bouillon from Costco instead of broth.

Do you have H-mart near you? I was just there today, and they have fresh ramen noodles that you could add to your own base. They also have ready made frozen ramen.

I bet you could find bases for ramen broth there too (I didn't look in those aisles but I'm sure you'd find it.)

I found a large bag of little squares of dried ramen noodles at Costco. They are organic milled & brown rice, gluten free & vegan. They're great!

I don't cook, but DH regularly makes homemade ramen soup for our DDs. He makes his own pork-based broth. First he grills pork chops, slices off the meat to serve later, and then places the bones in a pressure cooker with garlic and ginger. After the broth is done, he usually adds baby corn, enoki mushrooms, and other Asian veggies. He buys organic ramen noodles off Amazon so they are presumably healthier than the convenient fast-cook ramen packages. He separately boils the ramen, then serves the ramen, broth, veggies, and sliced pork chops to us. Healthy and delicious!
