Help me get my iPhone pics from phone to computer

When I first bought my latest iPhone, the photos that I took on the iPhone would automatically appear on my Macbook Air laptop in the "Photos" app. Suddenly, that stopped happening. How do I make that happen again? Did I turn something off by accident?

On my phone under settings, I have "iCloud photo library" enabled. Should I have "upload to my photo stream" enabled? Or should I have "iCloud photo sharing" enabled?

I use image capture on my mac to import the photo's and video's from my iDevices. Gives me more control over the files.
