ok, I've posted here before asking if shoes are too frumpy- according to those posts my frump radar doesn't exist so I really need some help!

I've been looking for some black wedges, and as I've mentioned before have VERY fussy feet- high arches, need lots of cushion.
I love the Ugg Maysie but it's too wide for my foot and it slides right through the front.

So then I found these clarks which are super comfy-

but I didn't realize until I got them that they have VELCRO instead of buckles- argh- this is not ok right???

FWIW- I'm 35 and try to look cute and put together most of the time.

I don't think those are frumpy! I'd wear them. I'm 41. :)

I was expecting the worst as I am not a fan of black sandals (I feel like they look too heavy for the summer) but those are ok. :)

I think they are cute. I prefer them in the metallic, but if you need black, they seem to fit the bill. I'd wear them (I am 43).

I think the Velcro makes them look more casual than they would if they had a buckle, but overall, I think they are cute. I'm 41.

I'd prefer the metallic too for summer. I have a pair of metallic sandals and they seem to go with everything as they are neutral as well. I don't have any black summer shoes except for basic flip flops for the pool.

I'm 34.

Wow ok so the Velcro doesn't bother anyone??

I don't think it's too noticeable. But I prefer a metallic or natural/cork for summer. I actually dislike the white stitching more then the Velcro. But I have been known to color it black with a sharpie, if I otherwise like the shoes. :)

I don't love the velcro and I'd be inclined to look a bit more. But, if they wind up being the most comfy and the best price, I would consider them. Agree with others that you should consider metallic. Was there some reason you wanted black?

Not me. I think it makes it easier than a buckle to put them on.

I actually like them in all the colors, but also saw these; what do you think of them in the metallic? I think they look younger/ trendier than the previous pair, if you can handle the higher wedge.

(the black nubuck are pretty cute, too, as are the khaki.)
