View Full Version : New American Girl line for young girls

Has anyone heard about this? I took DD to the AG store and asked if they were discontinuing the twin line and I was told yes it's not selling well but they are coming out with something else for young girls between the bitty baby line and the big dolls. It's going to be revealed in June. She also referenced that it would be something like the Disney Fairies but no idea what that means. Maybe dolls with personality and characteristics? I am super excited about this. The never put out much for Bitty Baby and of course the twins have been pretty much done for awhile now so it will be great to have more options for DD.


ETA: ok it wasn't too hard to find. Looks like it's Wellie Wishers. Seems like an odd name. Some look cute but some look like they have weird vacant eyes so I don't know if they're as cool as I was hoping. Plus they definitely will be a different size. I liked the idea of DD having a baby doll and then the older doll wearing the same clothes. It also looks like it could have its own show with Amazon.

They're cute! I believe that "Wellie Wishers" is a reference to their rainboots, also known as Wellingtons.

They remind me of the Mandy and Jenny dolls that we had. I think my Mandy doll even had yellow rain boots. We thought that Mandy looked like me and Jenny looked like my sister.

Seriously! I love the chubby baby dolls. Don't get the appeal of the WWs.

We had Mandy growing up. (probably got 1978 or 1979.)
*loved* them.

Their clothes came with patterns for making other stuff. So my parents, after buying a Mandy doll for both me and my sister, made two copies of each of the sewn clothes (And a sleeping bag) to go with them and split up the clothes they bought. It was a major Christmas present that year with a lot of love put into it.
