4425This is our new furry family member. She's 1 1/2 and an Australian labradoodle. We just adopted her 3 weeks ago and are all so smitten by her! I can't figure out how to fix the picture so it's not side ways.

We adopted Smudge (tux) almost a year and a half ago, after posting here for advice. :) We adopted Smokey (gray) last summer, on a whim, right before we decided to move. They are exactly a year apart. Smudge is two and Smokey is one. They loooove each other, but Smudge would still be happy as an only cat. Smokey is a social butterfly and can never be alone! I joke that it's like the best part of having a baby -- all the snuggles, none of the fussing!

The last pic is from when they first met. They were dying to meet!!

Our two fur babies-Scout is the yellow shepherd mix, adopted 2 years ago. Best dog ever. Stella is the black lab mix, adopted last December. She's still testing our patience, but getting better! Scout is approx 6 years old, Stella is about 18 months. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160609/4fb292d3bbdf2180ea377fa56cbdc706.jpg

Here is our Ginger. We got her from the SPCA 15 years ago. So we figure she is about 16. We think she is part Jack Russell and Basenji.

Don't have pics I can post easily, but I own 3 cats, Zack a 13 year old black/white, Tribbles, age 11 a gray tabby, and Kitty Witty, age 11, a fluffy orange tabby. They are a lot of fun, but also avid hunters, which can make your day interesting.

We have 4 cats, all rescues.4441

Clockwise from top left:

Dewey, age 1, was abandoned in a crate full of black cats and was one of just a few that were adoptable. Since I'm a librarian, his name is perfection.

Clementine, age 5, was rescued as a pregnant teenager. When we got her, her kittens had been adopted and she was left behind. She has a typical tortoiseshell personality.

Ginny, almost 1, was rescued with her feral mother last summer. Pure sweetness.

Cleo, age 7, was abandoned on a military post. She's our indoor/outdoor kitty. Excellent hunter but so sweet and patient with kids.

The love we have for these kitties is rather sickening!

Citymama, Teddy sleeps like that often. Jake, my 1st cocker, did occasionally as well.

I have to tell you, I did a double take when I saw your pic - I immediately thought - look, he sleeps in a pack n play! :)

LOL, now there's an idea! Zeus has never used a crate, but he sure loves his bed.

Is Teddy a cocker spaniel too? I ask because we are trying to figure out our dog's particular mix. He's either cockapoo or wheaten-poodle. Everyone asks if he's cockapoo but when we got him we were told he was a wheaten-doodle. So wondering if the back-sleeping is a cocker spaniel behavior. He also does this cute play action where he stands on his hind legs and bats at you like a kitten when he wants to romp around. I've been trying to see if that's particular to any breed as well!

Harry is an english setter, morgan is our very old german shorthair pointer. we just picked out a new pup yesterday and she should be here by the end of the month. Can't believe I agreed to a 3rd dog! we have a cat that is the total alpha of our pet pack .

Teddy is a cocker. Sleeping on the back is often a 'cocker' trait. Along with laying with all 4 legs splayed out 'froggy' style. I'd take a pic but he tends to do it more at night. During the day, he sleeps on the arm of the couch with his head on my computer lap desk..... or on my laptop ;) He does not stand on his hind legs at all. I have had 2 cockers who do, but I dont think of that as a breed trait. Rather, I think of it as 'little dog' behavior.

I think Zeus could be either a wheaton or a cocker doodle. Its hard to tell. Either way he's awfully cute.

This is our Rhodesian Ridgeback/Labrador mix that we adopted 3 years ago. He thinks he's a lapdog (despite being 80 pounds) and is super affectionate. He just loves to snuggle.

This Valentine our 6-yr old rescue. Not sure what breed. She's 35 lbs and the most mild mannered dog. She has a very thin coat in brindle and an interesting howl. Thinking maybe some shorthair pointer?
