Is anyone watching the Olympics right now??

They just started the men's 10,000 meters. At the start of the race,
the camera was zoomed in on a runner who let out the biggest yawn ever.

My kids were laughing because this guy is standing there yawning at
the start of his 10,000 meter race. :)

That's funny! I didn't see that! Checking to see if I can find them in the pack.

Just an interesting fact that it may be stress and anxiety. I tend to yawn when I get super anxious, like before public speaking. It's actually kind of embarrassing because some people think that I'm bored or tired. Poor guy to be caught on national TV!

In this article they mention that it occurs in athletes before competition.

I tend to yawn when I'm really or extremely cold. It was so common for me after spending my first full summer in America shortly after immigrating here. I wasn't used at all to the ice cold rooms inside air conditioned buildings!

Yes. The star of UVA's basketball team this past season yawned before games. He was a senior this year, but when it was happening his freshman year, apparently his coach was getting on him about it, thinking he wasn't interested. The player's mom had to explain what was going on to the coach. Lol
