I pick up mine between 430 and 530, which is the latest I can have them picked up. I get off of work at 4 and it usually takes me 45-60 minutes to get there (I work with 20 miles away and there is often a bit of traffic). This year I will have every other Monday off so on the days I am off they won't go to daycare.

For this poll I will be voting 500 to 530 because that is the norm as sometimes if I get to the school area by 430 (no traffic!) I will make a quick grocery run, but ESP. with Dd2 I do find that if I get home before 515 it makes our evenings go so much quieter and enjoyable (we live about a 10 minute drive from school). I also should be able to do my grocery runs on my day off so that should no longer be an issue.

It varies. Our aftercare is open until 6. DH's schedule is typically more flexible than mine and he usually does pickup. He will pick them up around 4:30-4:45pm when he is able to. When he's traveling or has a meeting, I pick them up but it's more like 5:15-5:30pm. Fortunately everything is 5 minutes away so we are home very quickly afterwards.

But we both do try as much as we can to pick them up on the earlier side because it's such a long day (school starts at 7:50am) and because our kids still need 11 hours of sleep so they need to be in bed at 8pm! I always feel bad for my kids because they are homebodies and draw their recharge from downtime at home so they don't get that during the school year. When I was little my mom was a SAHM so I got to come home straight after school and I felt like I SO needed that downtime!

it depends on who picks up. If I have a meeting it's generally til 5 so I pick up at 5:30. If I'm OOT DH picks up at 6 which is the last possible minute :) But the rest of the time they ride the bus home because I work night shift except for my occasional pm meetings.

Oops. I voted wrong. I meant to say between 5 and 5:30. Last year, I almost always got there at 5:20 or so. Ours is open until 6, but like someone else said, I try to get there as early as I can because he has to be at school at 7:45 a.m. and he needs to go to bed around 8:30.

He's been at Y camp this summer and that closes at 6 as well. But I tend to pick up later, around 5:40, because he sleeps much later and doesn't get there until 9 a.m. And he doesn't go to bed until 9 or 9:30ish. The Y and his elementary school are at the same intersection, about 25 minutes from work (and about five minutes from our house).

I try to get there before 5pm, but can't always. This year, I have them signed up for the whole extended period bc work has proven to require more early mornings than I originally thought. Early drop off at 7 am and latest pick-up at 6 pm. School starts at 8:05.

My aftercare goes to 6, when he was at daycare it was 530. Although I rarely get there after 530, it's nice having the extra cushion if I want to pick up a few groceries after work. Twice a week he is picked up by my mother at 330 at the end of school. Depending on my schedule, he is dropped off at before care between 735 and 8 a.m.

Aftercare goes to 6 and daycare closes at 530. Generally I get to daycare at 515. Will have to figure out the order of pickup with DD1 going to kindy. The schools are 2 miles apart but think I will get DD2 first and then pick up DD1.

Hopefully home by 545 so would be around the 530 mark. Our school starts and ends later so she isn't in care that long - 9:15-3:45

Our aftercare closes @ 7pm and on very few occasions, I've picked up close to that time (grocery shop on my way home, etc) but normally it's 5:20-5:30.

Our aftercare is open until 6:30, but I typically pick up around 3:30.

Our after care is open until 6. If I am in the office, I pick up between 5:30 and 6. If I am teleworking, then I pick up around 5. But two days a week she has an activity from 5:45-6:45 (at the same location) so I don't pick up until 6:45. But if I have time I stop in, "pick her up", and sit with her while she has a snack until 5:45.

Our aftercare is open until 6:30. I generally pick up between 5:45 and 6:00. I get off of work at 5. Sometimes I'm there as early as 5:30p but then I have to walk across and the second kid is closer to 5:45 anyway. (My kids are at two different schools -- the primary and elementary versions of the same school, in walking distance of each other)

Typically between 4:30 and 5:00. DS asks to be at aftercare until 5:30 on a Friday as his friends play monopoly and if I get him at the usual time, he doesn't have time to finish the game. I should go grocery shopping or do something for ME, but I often stay back at work getting something done. Now that I think about it, I could do grocery shopping to save me time on the weekend.

DS went back to school a week before I did, and he wanted to go to aftercare rather than me pick him up. He said he hadn't seen the aftercare director in MONTHS and opted to go play.

I get off work at 3, so I'm usually to daycare between 3:30-4, unless I have to run errands on my way, at which point it might be as late as 4:15.
