Does this need medical attention? Bite of some sort

DH has been complaining about a bite on his ankle, yesterday it was obviously a bite of some sort but today it has a red rash around it. It's painful at the bite and the part that's red. I'm trying to add a picture so hopefully it uploads. Does it look like something that needs a trip to urgent care? Bad spider bite or tick bite? I'm an anxious wreck about him as it is and he's very much anti-medicine to begin with so I don't know if I'm overreacting or not, any advice? Thanks!!

Is it warm to the touch? Ds2 had an infected mosquito bite on his ankle a few mo ago and a topical cream (rx) fixed the problem quickly.

Is the bite hard underneath? My DS had a bite that became infected and turned into a staph infection.

My son had a bite where his leg was swollen and red. Turned out to be cellulitis. He needed antibiotics. Get it checked out.
