Do your kids get the fluoride treatment after their tooth cleaning at the dentist?

My husband's dental insurance covers everything EXCEPT the fluoride treatment and our
dentist office bills the insurance company $40 for the fluoride. (Which is absolutely crazy!!!)

Yes, they do. It's covered by insurance.

Mine do get it. I think it is $35 and is not covered by our insurance (Delta Dental).

Yes, and ours is also $35 and not covered by insurance (which is so dumb). It makes me want to figure out how to buy it and then apply it myself, LOL.

Mine do and it's covered by insurance, but I get it (for sensitivity) and it's not covered so I pay $40 out of pocket. That is utterly insane for a tiny squirt of industrial waste byproduct and 3 minutes of the hygienist's time! I've been debating if I should still get it.

Yes, he gets it. I do too.

My kids get fluoride treatments twice a year. Insurance covers once a year. We pay $24 for the other treatment insurance doesn't cover.

Yes, and ours is covered by insurance (Delta Dental) for minors.

Ours is covered with this insurance but some in the past have not been I declined it them Mine generally use a rinse at night so I'm not worried If they had a ton of decay I'd be more apt to do it. Yes you can decline it

Same here, but I think we pay $35 for the treatment that is not covered.

We do it. It's covered once a year and $19 the other time out of pocket.

We do it (covered) BUT learned that if your DC pulls the toothbrush from the party favor bag the dentist gives, and they "brush" with it, it'll wipe it right off!

No. We decline. Fluoride is an endocrine disruptor. As someone struggling with hypothyroidism, I opt out and decline for the kids, as well.

I just had a dentist appointment today. :)
We all get fluoride. It is not covered by insurance and typically the cost would be $35.00 but if we pay that day (with cash or card) they drop it down to $20. Not sure how that works...

Man, I wish ours did a discounted self pay rate! It's so pricey for what it is.

Yes it is included by insurance. I don't get it, and I don't think DH does either (we never go the dentist at the same time). DDs do use a mouth rinse though daily.

My dentist does for DS, but I don't think it is every visit. Maybe once per year? Never paid much attention, but do know at our visit last month he was told he couldn't eat or drink for one hour, so assume that is why.

We pay for it and take DD in every 3 months for extra cleanings and fluoride. Her first dental problems at 2 cost us several thousand dollars after insurance so the prevention is definitely worth it in her case.

Only every other time. No dental insurance here and I am not entirely comfortable with fluoride and kids. Our water is fluoridated and that is fine.
