DD in 5th grade, public school has 26 kids and 1 teacher.
DS2 in 3rd grade has 25 kids and 1 teacher.

Those have been fairly consistent over the years.

DS1 is in 7th and his vary from 25 to 32, except for band that has 77.

Technically I could have up to 34. However the game plan is to reshuffle some of the lower grades due to low enrollment, and then move that teacher to 5th so we would have three 5th grades instead of two, and then all three 5th grades will be around 23-25 kids. School wide, most classes will be between 20-24. Lower grades can have 27 and upper 34, but no class should be close to that max.

DS second grade public school 18 kids. I don't know if they have an aide in the classroom or not, some of the aides split their time between classes.

We have aides galore here. I'm not really privy to what makes a classroom have an aid though. When I was a kid there was no such thing as having an aid in the classroom. Last year my DS was in 2nd grade with 19 kids and he told me there were 4 aides! I think some kids had a full time aide?

This year DS is in 3rd and I dont know how many kids are in his class right now but I think about 22 kids. The teacher mentioned she would have a math student teacher every morning to help out in math from 8:30 - 10:30. I am guessing there will be at least 1 full time aide as well, just from previous years experiences.

I dont know how many kids DD has in her class. She is 5th grade and I am guessing 22-24 kids like previous years.

Any aides are actually child specific, but depending on that child's needs the aide might exclusively focus on that child or not, and might be there all day or part of the day.

PA public school:

DD1 is in 4th grade, 27 students with 1 teacher. This is a large class size for our intermediate building. I think they normally have 22-25 kids per class in the intermediate buildings.

DD2 is in 2nd grade, 17 kids with 1 teacher. There may be aides that are in and out throughout the day depending on subject. Often the aides do one-on-one or small groups with students who need extra support.

DDs go to a diocesan Catholic K-8 school
Dd1 (5th): 31 kids, 1 teacher, no aide
Dd2 (1st): 25 kids, 1 teacher, 2 part aides (1 aide in Am and one in Pm)

School also has pull outs for Latin, religion, art, music and computers in pre k through 5; in pk-3 the computer and music classes are usually split in groups so the teachers have time with a smaller number of students. In 5th grade there are three different types of music programs so not all of the kids go to music at the same time, but so far this hasn't been an issue for the teacher.

MD public school - 3rd - 22 kids no aide 1st - 21 kids no aide. I don't remember what the max allowable size is - 27? 28? They just lowered the allowable max by 1 this year county wide (which is big deal since system is just shy of 160k students)

In kindergarten and first, there were never more than 19 kids. I think the cap (for k-3) is 22 kids.

Public school.

DD1, 5th grade, 28 or 29 kids, no aide.

DD2, 2nd grade, 24, one part time aide (shared, I think, among four classes)

DS, Kindergarten, not sure but usually between 18 and 22, 1 full-time aide.

I think our district eliminated class size limits for grades 3-5, but I'm not 100% certain. I know that 2 years ago, the fifth grades had 30-32 kids per class. But DD's grade is so large that the class sizes end up being (counter-intuitively) smaller, with more classes.

K-2 is limited to 24 kids per class without a waiver.

I'm honestly not sure this year how many kids are in each kid's class. I could have counted desks when we were there, but didn't think to. I'd day DS (5th) has ~ 25 in his class, though, if I'm remembering the class layout correctly. DD is in third & NC requires that it be no more than 21 to start the year & no more than 24 at any point in the year, so she's somewhere under those numbers.

1st grade public - 23 kids, 1 teacher, no aide unless assigned to a specific student 1-1. Class size limits at our school are 25 for K-3, 35 for 4-5

7th grade charter - multiple classes, I think all are 30 or less? Not sure, to be honest. It's a small charter school so the class sizes are not bad.

Public school in California.

2nd grade: 24 kids, no classroom aides.
Kinder: 25 kids. It's half day so the morning teacher is there co-teaching for half of the measly 3 hours they are in there.

Our community has a foundation that contributes 10% of the district's budget. One of the things they finance is keeping k-3 classroom sizes small.

We haven't started yet but I expect ~18 kids in second grade, probably with a part time aide? In K we had 16 with a teacher and full time assistant teacher. In 1st for most of the year it was 17 with a teacher, full-time behavioral aide (who did help with the entire class as well), and part time aide.

DS has 21 students (only 6 boys!) in his kindy class. They have 1 teacher, and no aides, although there is rumored to be a lot of parent involvement in this school and the teacher has sent around sign up sheets for parents to volunteer to help in-class on a regular basis.

This is a public school in Utah.

Not sure yet as they start back next week but typically K-4 is ~15-17 kids with 1 teacher and no aide. This is public school is rural town. There are usually 4 sections of each grade and total grad class size is 60-80.

I am bummed about the class sizes this year. Younger DD (4th grade, public) has 27 kids. We were spoiled last year because they had enough third graders to have 4 classrooms, so she had 19 in her class last year. But there are only three 4th grade classrooms.

There is no aide, but she is in the class where they do push in services for a lot of kids with IEPs, so a special education teacher is in the classroom for much of the day. She also gets pulled out a few hours a week for small group instruction.

But most importantly, I think she got another great teacher this year. And her special education teacher this year was the same one she had in second grade, and she is awesome. We love her. :) I love the teachers at her school. They are almost all fantastic.

Our public school keeps kindergarten classes at 18 or below. I think there were 14 in DS's class. Now he'll be in 2nd. He's one of 21 kids.

ETA: last year his class had 15. There must have been an influx of new kids!

6th grade has 15. They are split in half (group of 7 and group of 8) for classes, and one teacher per group. They are all together for PE only.
4th grade has 16. Also split in half for classes (except PE), with one teacher per group.
My K kiddo has 16 kids, mixed age class, with 2 teachers. They go to specials with their own grade (there are 2 mixed classes), so specials are bigger classes.

I'm really jealous about some of the ratios posted here.

DD1 is in 2nd grade, 27 kids 1 teacher no aide
DD2 is in TK, 21 kids, 1 teacher no aide. However i was told the capacity is 26 kids so they are still enrolling students, some are transferred from other districts
