DH has a dinner tomorrow night so it will just be DC and I. They would be excited to have a special dinner. Any ideas? TIA

How about things that are typically "American" like hot dogs, french fries, and apple pie. Or you could choose to go the multi-cultural route with foods from lots of different cultures. Red, white, and blue foods would be cute, too.

Witty idea! And what a great thought, OP!

I'm making piled high nachos with roasted butternut squash, corn, black beans, peppers, oinions guac on the side. Kids will get the simple version. But I need something I can eat with my fingers while I pace the house...

My oldest two "nominated" a main dish, veggie and dessert each and the 5 of us get a vote to determine dinner.

I just found a recipe for red, white and blue drinks that my kids will love http://www.browneyedbaker.com/red-white-blue-layered-drinks/. They're made with cranberry juice, 7up and blue Powerade.

A lot of people I know are doing Taco Tuesday because of Trump's crazy comment about "taco trucks on every corner" which we here in CA think would be awesome lol!
