Maybe this belongs in the b!tching post. I just feel bad today. Mostly from the election results. I am not clinically depressed or anything. I just feel a sense of doom looming over me today and the election is the main cause. But whats adding to it is that my DH has been in India for work since late last week and he isnt coming home until the 20th so I've been home with the kids alone (which has actually been OK - we've been having easy dinners and ice cream for dessert) but I dont have anyone to commiserate with in person (besides my coworkers). Add to that the crappy winter weather (I am really a summer girl which doesnt bode well for me up here in Vermont), and the fact that today is overcast and dreary, and it gets dark out at 4:30pm. I wish I had something to look forward to, like a tropical vacation, but we already went on 2 of those this year and DH says we need to tone those down a bit. It doesnt help that I slept about 2 hours last night and have been up since 2am. I wish I just had something joyful to look forward too! I would even go for a good book at this point. Something fun or a romantic comedy(any suggestions?). Thinking of buying Bad Moms on Amazon Video but not sure I could stay awake long enough after the kids go to bed to watch it. I wish it was closer to Christmas because then I would start decorating. But I cant bring myself to think about that until after Thanksgiving.

I was actually contemplating booking a vacation for me and the kids for next week. But I really cant afford it. It would be fun to just jet off though, just the kids and I!

I do have my chocolate lab at home to cheer me up. I wish i was a dog today because they have no idea about politics and she is just concerned about getting her next meal.

ETA: Oh, and another thing! Kids and I were happy the Patriots were playing this weekend (we missed them on their bye week) but just realized they dont play until 8:30pm on Sunday and I'll have to watch alone because kids should be in bed by then!

Maybe we should swap! I am sick and tired of 80-degree weather in November. I want to wear my sweaters!

(Not to make light of your feelings. I'm feeling down, too. I'll commiserate with you here.)

I wish we could! I would love a sunny 80 degree day right now. I've been going home from work and changing into polartec fleece pants + sweatshirt to keep warm.

I am with Sariana for the weather, but honestly that is the only bright spot today. As much as I don't care for HRC I honestly thought she was going to win and I am shocked that she didn't. But I don't feel as bad as some because she at least won California.

The LA Kings have won two games in a row and have scored 12 goals in the two games and their third string goalie has two shutouts. It is sad when the only things that keep you going is sports and the weather.

The weather is definitely not helping. I am also someone who needs light and sun. I said to my DH this morning that I need a good book to read to distract me. But the weather...UGH.

Its not that I was a huge HRC lover, I just really despise Donald Trump.

I wish I hadnt already taken the kids to see Trolls, or that might be a fun option for tonight. Just need something to cheer up!

There is a newer Shawn the Sheep video out, if you are a fan - "Little Sheep of Horrors". I haven't seen it yet, but heard DH and the girls laughing...

Books - The Rosie Project, or, if you are into urban fantasy, the Pax Arcana series (see below - DH and I both enjoyed the author's sense of humor). Or Bridget Jones's Baby, book or movie.

And a light box, if you don't have one already. I need to get mine out. Are you taking vitamin D?

I saw a clip for the new Lethal Weapon show on Fox on FB and another FB friend showed some Outlander "porn" of a half naked Jamie in a Kilt so I think I will be filling my days with shoot em up tv shows and hot half naked guys in period piece tv (also drooling over Ross in Poldark), and now Outlander is officially on my must watch list.

I very much dispise Trump. I can think of at least 10 other Republicans and Democrats, plus Clinton that I would have preferred to Trump.

This will not solve all problems, but I also suggest a light box or lamp. Not cheap, but I have used mine for the past 15+ years.
