Favorite appetizer

I have several get togethers I need to bring an appetizer to.

What is your favorite appetizer? Hot, cold, crock pot, finger food-doesn't matter!!!

Ooh that looks great!!! I am not sure if I could take that to someone else's house though. Any other good ones?

I usually do the cherry/ grape tomato with basil and a mini mozzarella cheese ball on a toothpick one. Spinach dip and good bread is another favorite. Meatballs (frozen TJ's Party Meatballs) + a jar of BBQ sauce and jar of apricot jelly has been a big hit too.

If it's for an adult event (book club, etc.), I really like these endive cups - http://www.myrecipes.com/recipe/endive-stuffed-with-goat-cheese-walnuts. I've been making them for years and people always ask for the recipe. Otherwise I tend to bring a nice cheese plate with lots of goodies (quince or fig jam), nuts, etc. or a veggie plate with a green goddess dip.

A friend that makes this for parties just serves it in a crockpot, so you could take the entire crockpot if there is a place to plug it in. As for other appetizers, are you looking for sophisticated? I have some good brie/fig and blue cheese/honey crostini recipes and a lovely fig goat cheese one. For crowd pleasers, I love a good homemade hummus with pita bread or homemade guacamole dip.
