I Googled it to see what was up, and I did find one article that said basically that Nintendo blew it--they just totally misjudged demand. I'm hoping more will come in stock, but I'm not holding my breath. Fortunately my DD is old enough (and savvy enough) to understand that Santa can't bring what Mom and Dad can't find (i.e. she knows).

Yep. They way underproduced the new ones. I ended up ordering DS this one: https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-New-3DS-XL-Special-Green/dp/B01LYUA6OS/ref=lp_2622271011_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1480686671&sr=1-1 Not a horrible price since it includes a game & is the XL, but not the $99 one I was hoping to get!

Don't forget Target will price match some stores so if you have a Red Card you get that 5% off too.

So funny, I literally just ordered this one! Had some Amazon rewards so I basically got the charger for free. Can't believe they don't include a charger with it !

But Target doesn't have any! Not even to purchase on backorder. It just says "unavailable in your area." There's no option to have it shipped or anything.

Right. It's just when I posted I hadn't read to see that Target was OOS. So, it was a general suggestion re. price matching. Lots of stores price match if you can find an in stock item somewhere and a better price elsewhere. But, if they're that hard to find, I wouldn't putz around. :)

I'm furious with Amazon. They were on sale on Sunday for $169 (I posted a thread about it). This thread reminded me to check it. It still hasn't shipped and is out of stock with no estimated ship date. Customer service was of no help.
